PRISCILA GUEDES

Priscila Guedes, a native of Brazil, initially pursued international relations as her primary field of study. Later, she transitioned to the National School of Arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she studied visual arts. Over the past 16 years, Guedes has split her time between the United States (Hawai'i, Los Angeles, and New York) and Europe (Paris, Marseille, and Lisbon). Since 2019, she has called Switzerland her home. During her time in France, she specialized in film, with a particular emphasis on high-tech cinematography and innovative media (virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality).
Priscila has made a name for herself as a Director of Photography for several feature-length fiction films in the European film industry, including "Skokan" by director Petr Václav from the Czech Republic and "Mr. Stein Goes Online" by director Stéphane Robelin from France. Her exceptional work on the latter film made her officially eligible for the Le Césars & Techniques Awards in the Best Direction of Photography category in 2018.
Amid the challenges posed by COVID-19, Priscila showcased her talents as a scriptwriter and film director by releasing a short film titled "O-CE-AN" in 2021. The film not only garnered international acclaim but also secured nine prestigious awards for Priscila in 2022, recognizing her as the best film director and celebrating "O-CE-AN" as the best art-house short film in Hollywood, Cannes, New York, Paris, and others.
In addition to her achievements in the film industry, Guedes has an established track record in sports innovation through the development of Big Wave VR, a virtual reality-based body and mind training tool gamified for an immersive experience. Her groundbreaking work with this startup was recognized with the 2022 Audience Award at venture.ch (the most prestigious startup competition in Switzerland), the 2022 Taiwan Intellectual Property Award (IAPS), and the 2022 Taiwan Sports Innovations Award. Priscila is also an accomplished free big waves surfer, particularly renowned among Hawaiian legends, and has received generous sponsorships from technology companies to build ocean-loving communities, especially during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, as a scriptwriter and film director, Priscila is actively involved in the development of her next feature fiction films, which will be co-produced in Swiss, French, American, and Brazilian contexts.
